FOREWORD
The sport of badminton is currently the second most popular spectator sport in the
world behind soccer. Although badminton's popularity is increasing in the United States,
it still pales in comparison to sports like football, basketball, and baseball. One of the
biggest problems for badminton enthusiasts is simply finding a consistent place to play.
Badminton is in constant competition with sports such as basketball, wrestling, and
volleyball for gym time. If more consistent playing locations could be found, I believe
more people would play and enjoy the sport of badminton. This is the main reasoning behind
the creation of the USBA's national "Where to Play Badminton Guide". With this
publication, badminton players across the country will be able to see where and when
badminton is being played from Maine to Hawaii. It is my hope that this publication will
be a valuable reference for USBA members to use when traveling, moving, or just looking
for a new place to play.
