- VENUE -
Orange County Badminton Club in Orange, California.
The new 72,300 square foot facility features 12 hardwood courts, 6 mat courts,
32 foot ceiling clearance, special lighting system, air conditioning system,
green walls, a full pro shop, and Bebe's Cafe (Thai-American restaurant).
- EVENTS -
MS, WS, MD, WD, and MX.
- FLIGHTS -
OPEN & Regular including B, C, D, Senior (40+), Master (50+),
and Grand Master (60+)
- FORMAT -
Straight draw, single elimination in accordance with USBA and IBF rules.
Players compete for 1st, 2nd,and 3rd place finishes. No consolation round
for all events. Events with insufficient entries are subject to cancellation.
- PRIZE -
$10,400 Total Purse in cash and prizes. Medals shall be awarded to the top
three finishers. OPEN flight winners shall have their names engraved on the
OCBC perpetual trophies to be on display at the club.
OPEN flight - $5,000 Purse in cash. Checks will be presented to the winners
by K & D Graphics.
Regular flights - $5,400 Purse in OCBC gift certificates (redeemable at OCBC
pro shop for merchandise and Bebe's Cafe for food).
OPEN Purse per event, per team - 1st $550, 2nd $300, and 3rd $150. In cash.
Regular Purse per event, per team - 1st $100, 2nd $50, and 3rd $30. In OCBC
gift certificates.
- ENTRY FEE -
OPEN flight - $25 per event. Regular flight - $15 per event. Three events
maximum. All entries include a complimentary OCBC T-shirt. Deadline for
entry is July 1, 1996. Banquet tickets - $20 per person. The banquet will
take place on the evening of Saturday, July 13th.

- SHUTTLES -
OCBC Shuttlecocks have been designated as the official shuttle for the 1996
OCBC OPEN. Two free shuttles are provided for each match. All shuttles are
provided for the OPEN semi-final and final matches. Additional shuttles are
available at the tournament desk for $1.50 each.

- ELIGIBILITY -
Open to any currently registered member of the USBA. USBA membership may be
purchased at the tournament desk. Non-member may pay a $5.00 participation
fee at the tournament desk. All senior participants must meet the age
requirement of their age group as of July 1, 1996. The latest revision of the
USBA player ranking list will be used for player ranking and seating.
- ENTRY INFO -
Mail entry to Orange County Badminton Club, 1432 N. Main St., Orange, CA 92667.
Entry with fees must be received by July 1, 1996. No late entry or telephone
entry accepted. The tournament draw will be made at 7:00 PM on July 5, 1996.
Players are welcome to view the draw. Postcards showing playing time will be
mailed to players on July 8, 1996.

- NOTES -
Court warm-up time limited to five minutes only. Fifteen minute default
strictly enforced. Fees paid for cancelled events will be refunded. All fees
are non-refundable after July 4th.
- LOCATION -
Orange County Badminton Club, 1432 North Main Street, Orange, CA 92667.
Located about 45 miles south of the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
and 14 miles north of John Wayne Airport.
Directions from LAX: Take Interstate 405 South for 30 miles, transfer to
Interstate 22 East for 13 miles, transfer to Interstate 57 North for 2 miles,
exit Katella Avenue and make a right turn, then turn left on to Main Street.
Directions from John Wayne Airport: Take Interstate 405 North for 1 mile,
transfer to Interstate 55 North for 10 miles, exit to Katella Avenue and make
a left turn, after about 3 miles turn right on to Main Street.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK, AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT
1. IN CONSIDERATION of being permitted to participate in any way in U.S.
Badminton Association sanctioned events, I and/or my minor child, or our
personal representatives, assigns, heirs, and next of kin:
2. ACKNOWLEDGE, agree, and represent that I and/or my minor understand
the nature of Badminton Activities and that I and/or my minor child are
qualified, in good health, and in proper physical condition to
participate in such Activity. I further agree that if at any time I
believe conditions or equipment to be unsafe, I and/or my minor child
will immediately discontinue further participation in the Activity.
3. FULLY UNDERSTAND that: (a) BADMINTON ACTIVITIES INVOLVE RISKS AND
DANGERS OF SERIOUS BODILY INJURY, INCLUDING PERMANENT DISABILITY,
PARALYSIS AND DEATH ("RISKS"); (b) these Risks and dangers may be caused
by me and/or my child's own actions, or inactions, the action or
inaction of other participating in the Activity, the conditions in which
the Activity takes place, or THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE "RELEASEES" NAMED
BELOW; (c) there may be OTHER RISKS AND SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC LOSSES
either not known to me or not readily foreseeable at this time; and I
FULLY ACCEPT AND ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS AND ALL RESPONSIBILITY FOR LOSSES,
COSTS, AND DAMAGES I and/or my minor child incur as a result of my
participation in the Activity.
4. HEREBY ACCEPT AND ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, KNOWN OR UNKNOWN, AND ASSUME
ALL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE LOSSES, COSTS, AND/OR DAMAGES FOLLOWING SUCH
INJURY, DISABILITY, PARALYSIS, OR DEATH, EVEN IF CAUSED, IN WHOLE OR IN
PART, BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE "RELEASEES" NAMED BELOW;
5. HEREBY RELEASE, DISCHARGE, AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE U.S. BADMINTON
ASSOCIATION, ORANGE COUNTY BADMINTON CLUB, INC., BEBE'S CAFE, INC.,
K & D GRAPHICS, INC., K & D INVESTMENT, INC., their respective
administrators, directors, agents, officers, volunteers, and employees,
other participants, any sponsors, advertisers, and, if applicable,
owners and lessors of premises on which the Activity takes place, (each
considered one of the "RELEASEES" herein) FROM ALL LIABILITY, CLAIMS,
DEMANDS, LOSSES, OR DAMAGES ON MY ACCOUNT CAUSED OR ALLEGED TO BE
CAUSED IN WHOLE OR IN PART BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE "RELEASEES" OR
OTHERWISE, INCLUDING NEGLIGENT RESCUE OPERATIONS; AND I FURTHER AGREE
that if, despite this RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF
RISK, AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT I and/or my minor child, or anyone on my
and/or my minor's child behalf, makes a claim against any of the
Releasees, I WILL INDEMNIFY, SAVE, AND HOLD HARMLESS EACH OF THE
RELEASEES from any litigation expenses, attorney fees, loss, liability,
damage, or cost which any may incur as the result of such claim.
6. I HAVE READ THIS AGREEMENT, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS,
UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING IT,
AND HAVE SIGNED IT FREELY AND WITHOUT ASSURANCE OF ANY NATURE AND
INTEND IT TO BE A COMPLETE AND UNCONDITIONAL RELEASE OF ALL LIABILITY
TO THE GREATEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW AND AGREE THAT IF ANY PORTION OF
THIS AGREEMENT IS HELD TO BE INVALID THE BALANCE, NOTWITHSTANDING, SHALL
CONTINUE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT.
