UC BERKELEY BADMINTON STATE INVITATION
                   Saturday May 4 and Sunday May 5

PURPOSE:
        The goal of this tournament is to allow college students to have 
        fun and to meet players from statewide colleges in a relaxed, 
        yet competitive environment.

QUALIFICATION:
        This tournament is open to all part-time and full-time students 
        of a two-year, four-year colleges and universities in the state 
        of California.

EVENTS:
        A and B flights for all events.  
        Maximum 1 flight per event allowed.
        10 minutes rest is guaranteed between matches.
        The tournament committee reserves the right to make any 
            necessary changes to the draw.
	
        Note:  A flight is comparable to USBA A and B flights
               B flight is comparable to USBA C and D flights

TEAMS:
        Each player will be competing as individuals and not 
        representative of a school team; thus, teams composed of players 
        from different schools are ALLOWED.

DEADLINE:
        All entries and fees must be postmarked by 
            WEDNESDAY, APRIL 24, 1996
        or e-mailed by 11:59 PM 
            THURSDAY, APRIL 25, 1996

ENTRY FEES:
        $6  - 1 event per person
        $11 - 2 events per person
        $16 - 3 events per person
	
        If you're requesting individual starting time via mail, 50 cents 
            will be charged at registration for postage and handling.
        Make checks payable to the order of Cal Badminton Club.
        PLEASE!!! NO  CASH - CHECK or MONEY ORDER only.

TIMES:
        Saturday:       Singles - 9:00AM        Mix: - approximately 1:00PM
        Sunday:         Doubles - 9:30AM

        o The gym will open at 8:30 AM each day for warm-up.
        o 15-minute default rule will be STRICTLY enforced.

PRIZES:
        Prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and consolation winners.
        Cal Bears will be awarded to Cal Bears draws (to be announced on
        tournament day)

SPECTATORS:
        Please include a list of guests that will accompany you to the
        tournament so that we may include them on our guests list.

PARKING:
        Parking spaces are difficult to locate so please come early to
        claim the limited spaces.  There are 2-hour metered parking 
        spaces along the street next to the RSF, or a $3.00 all-day 
        parking lot directly across from the RSF.  The 2-hour metered
        parking spaces are enforced on Saturday but NOT Sunday.

MISC.:
        Shuttles will be available for $1.60 each.
        No food, beverages, or lounge chairs are allowed in the gym.
        (Be prepared to check-in food and drinks at the front desk.)
        Players will be asked to sign a waiver when signing in at the 
            registration desk.

AFFILIATION:
        This tournament is affiliated with only the Cal Badminton Club 
        and UC Berkeley Sports Club program.
