(5 minutes from San Diego Airport, next to the World Famous San Diego Zoo)
SPONSORSHIP:
YONEX CORPORATION is providing Tournament Shuttles: Mavis 300 yellow,
logo t-shirts for players, and coaches.
OTHER LOGISTICS:
Lunch delivery service will be provided. Coaches will be given menus from which money
should be collected and orders will be accepted. San Diego Badminton Supply will provide
on-site stringing services during the Championships.

- COACHES ARE TO BE SELECTED FROM REGIONS CURRENT YOUTH PROGRAMS

- CO-ED TEAMS
- CONSOLATION (3/4 PLAYOFF) TOURNAMENT
- COMPETITION EVENTS: SINGLES, DOUBLES, MIXED DOUBLES
- EACH REGION PLAYS ONE TEAM MATCH A DAY. FINALS AND ¾ PLAYOFF WILL BE PLAYED ON SECOND
DAY. EACH TEAM MATCH CONSISTS OF 19 INDIVIDUAL MATCHES.

- ALL SINGLES & DOUBLES ARE TO BE RANKED 1-2. LIST ALL POSSIBLE COMBINATIONS BY

TEAM MEETING (10:30AM)
ONE HOUR PRIOR TO START OF MATCH, TEAMS WILL MEET WITH TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR, UMPIRE
& COACHES. STARTING LINE-UPS ARE TO BE EXCHANGED AND PRESENTED TO TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR
& OPPONENT
UMPIRE WILL REVIEW COMPETITION RULES
WARMUP
COURTS WILL BE AVAILABLE ONE HOUR PRIOR TO MATCH
PRACTICE SHUTTLES WILL BE PROVIDED
USA BADMINTON RULES WILL BE ENFORCED
SUBSTITUTION & INJURY/EQUIPMENT TIME OUT
- SUBSTITUTE (ALTERNATE) PLAYER MAY BE USED IF AN INJURY OCCURS DURING WARM-UP. NO
SUBSTITUTIONS MAY BE MADE ONCE MATCH BEGINS
- INJURY TIME OUT: PLAY MAY BE SUSPENDED FOR ONE 10 MINUTE PERIOD DURING A MATCH. A SECOND
INJURY TIME OUT DURING SAME MATCH WILL RESULT IN AN IMMEDIATE DEFAULT
- UNIFORM TIME OUT: NOT TO EXCEED 5 MINUTES
MATCH & GAME SCORING
- EACH MATCH CONSISTS OF BEST OR 3 REGULATION GAMES
- ONE MINUTE COACHING TIME-OUT IS ALLOWED ON COURT BETWEEN 1ST & 2ND
GAME. ONLY 2 COACHES MAY COACH ONE PLAYER/TEAM AT A TIME ON COURT. UMPIRES MONITOR TIME.
- FIVE-MINUTE OFF-COURT COACHING MAY OCCUR WHEN TEAMS HAVE SPLIT THE FIRST TWO GAMES
- EACH MATCH WON OR DEFAULTED COUNTS AS ONE TEAM POINT
- 19 MATCHES COMPLETE THE TEAM MATCH. FIRST TEAM TO WIN 10 TEAM POINTS IS THE WINNER OF
THE MATCH
- ALL MATCHES ARE TO BE PLAYED EVEN IF A TEAM REACHES 10 POINTS BEFORE TEAM MATCH IS
FINISHED

- EACH TEAM WILL PROVIDE ONE LINE JUDGE WHEN REQUESTED
REST TIME BETWEEN MATCHES
- IF A PLAYER HAS TO PLAY BACK-TO BACK MATCHES, OTHER MATCHES MAY BE CALLED OUT OF ORDER
TO SPEED UP MATCH PLAY
- A 15 MINUTE REST-TIME WILL BE GRANTED TO PLAYERS PLAYING BACK TO BACK
MATCHES.
THIS IS NOT A CIF SANCTIONED EVENT.

WORLD. LARGEST SELECTION OF LODGING IS IN SAN DIEGOS "HOTEL CIRCLE"
