USF BADMINTON TOURNAMENT
Upper Gym - University of
South Florida - Tampa, Florida
from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm Sun. July 8.
Tournament Format will be at
the tournament directors discretion and depends on sufficient entries per
event. All competitors will play at
least 2 matches per event. All
participants are limited to a maximum of 5 events. All age divisions will play
with feather shuttles. The student category strictly involves participants with
no prior tournament experience or novice abilities.
Entry Fee for students
USF : $5 for the first event, $5 per
event thereafter
Non-USF : $10 for first event, $5 per
event thereafter
Entry
fee for Adult and Seniors events…
$10 for the first event,
$7.50 per event thereafter.
The gym has 6 air conditioned courts, with shower and locker facilities. A large number of restaurants and lodging facilities are close by (but not within walking distance). The gym is close to some very nice beaches, historic areas and museums.
Directions - from Interstate 275 go east on Fowler (or 582) about 3 miles. You will pass the Main entrance to the University on your left. Turn north (left) on Rosewood Drive immediately across from the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) (a peculiar glass building with a dinosaur in front and a planetarium on top). Turn west (left) in front of the Sun Dome and then back to the north (right) just past the Sun Dome. The Campus Recreation Center houses the upper gym where badminton will be played.
