Kuala Lumpur, May 17: Reigning champions China needed only 84 minutes to brush aside hapless Indonesia 3-0 to qualify for their ninth consecutive Uber Cup final at Stadium Putra tonight.

According to the tournament rules, the match will be stopped once a team secures a 3-0 winning margin. This applies from the semifinal onwards only.

The Indonesian team had trooped into court knowing that they face a titanic battle tonight. However, their shuttlers did try to put up a decent fight but hardly made any difference. The superb court skills of the Chinese players put them in the driving seat at all times. The Indons had no answer to the Chinese firepower and fell. The defeat knocked Indonesia from making it to the final - the first time since 1994.

The Indonesian team rested their jittery top shuttler Lidya Djaelawijaya and moved Ellen Angelina into the first singles slot but her absence was hardly felt. World no. 2 Gong Zichao only needed 21 minutes to overcome Angelina 11-2, 11-1 and thus put China one-up.

The second point came from Chinese crack pair of Ge Fei-Gu Jun when they disposed off a persistent Eliza Nathaniel-Deyana Lomban in straight games. The Indonesian duo managed to defend their fort but eventually crumbled 9-15, 7-15 under the relentless 1996
Atlanta Games gold medallists' attacks .

The victory point arrived soon after as China's world no. 3 Dai Yun cruised to a 11-6, 11-4 win over Yuli Marfuah.
