The individual world championships take place this week. First stage competition began on Sunday for unranked and lower-ranked players and pairs. Second stage competition for higher-ranked players and pairs and also the survivors of the first stage begins Tuesday.

The semifinals in mixed doubles and quarterfinals in the other events are scheduled for late Friday. The finals in the mixed doubles and the semifinals in the singles and even doubles will be held on Saturday with the singles and even doubles championshp matches taking place on Sunday afternoon.
