by Mike Grossman (from a report filed by YANG YANG Badminton Equipment
and R. Bryant)
December 27, 1996 (New Shuttlenws) - The much-ballyhooed top-dollar coaching
contract between Morten Frost of Denmark and the Persatuan Badminton Malaysia
has not yet been finalized, according to sources at the Malaysian badminton
association.
Frost, a former world top men's singles player and currently a hot coaching
talent, is on vacation in Europe and will not deal with the contract until
after the Christmas season.
However, Frost is still expected to take up the Malaysian badminton head
coaching spot in mid-February.
In another international coaching development, Finn Traerup-Hansen, Frost's
predecessor as Danish head coach, has come to terms with the Australian
badminton association and will be their head coach in the run-up to the
2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. Coach Traerup-Hansen will take up his post
in Australia on January 6.
