MORTEN FROST SEEKS BIG BUCKS TO COACH MALAYSIA

December 12, 1996 (New Shuttlenws) - In stories circulating around the badminton World Cup tournament in Jakarta, Indonesia, Morten Hansen Frost, one of the best ever to play men's singles and now also a proven quantity as a top-notch coach, is said to be in second-stage negotiations with the Badminton Association of Malaysia about their vacant national head coaching position.

Earlier rumours had indicated that Frost had already inked a contract with the Malaysians. Later stories said that Frost had made a counteroffer to the Malaysians who had offered him a yearly salary of 60,000 Malaysian ringgits (about US$25,000).

The Danish coach reportedly made a counteroffer for a yearly salary of 240,000 ringgits (about US$100,000).

The amount that Frost is seeking may not be within the budget of the Malaysian association. However, it is said that negotiations are still continuing.
