OLYMPIC CHAMPIONS STILL TOP WORLD BADMINTON WOMEN'S DOUBLES RANKINGS

November 7, 1996 (New Shuttlenws) - Olympic champions Ge Fei and Gu Jun
of China continue to lead the world's badminton women's doubles players
in the October 29 rankings published by the International Badminton
Federation.
Olympic silver medalists Gil Young Ah and Jang Hye Ock from Korea sit
in the second spot, just ahead of Indonesias Eliza and Rosiana Zelin.
The top European team is the Danish pair of Helene Kirkegaard and Rikke
Olsen at number 4, while Rhona Robertson and Tammy Jenkins of New Zealand
lead the players from Oceania at number 25.
The Canadian sibling pair of Elma and Moira Ong are the best from the
Pan-Americas at number 27, coincidentally just behind another pair of
siblings, Aiko and Akiko Miyamura of Japan.
There are no pairs from Africa in the top 50.
