A fine original oil painting from circa 1790s, this full length portrait
is stunning in its large size, with the young boy dressed in high class
clothing. The boy is holding a sheepskin vellum battledore with a long
handle, and a shuttlecock with elongated feathers, offering important
evidence of the popularity of the shuttlecock game. Like the stained
glass window, this impressive piece of fine art is one of the great
signature pieces in the Collection.
