TOP SEEDS BREEZE IN EURO CHAMPIONSHIPS April 16, 1996 (D.Shuttlenws) - Top-seeded men's singles players Poul-Erik Hoyer-Larsen and Peter Rasmussen, both of Denmark, had easy opening round matches at the start of individual competition at the European badminton championships in Herning, Denmark earlier today. The first-seeded Hoyer-Larsen, the All-England Open champion who had two disappointing losses during the team competition, breezed past Estonian Heiki Sorge 15-3 15-4, while the second-seeded Rasmussen, the Danish number three behind Hoyer-Larsen and the absent Thomas Stuer-Lauridsen, had a surprisingly easy match against Rikard Magnusson of Sweden 15-2 15-4.
