Swiss Open: Archer and Goode, Fung Take Swiss Crowns

March 21, 1999 (NEW SHUTTLENWS) - England's Simon Archer and Joanne Goode today added the three-star rated Swiss Open mixed doubles crown to the All-England title that they won last week. In today's championship match in Basel, Archer and Goode convincingly defeated the world number ones Michael Sogaard and Rikke Olsen of Denmark 15-5 and 15-4.

Taiwan's Fung Permadi went three for four in Grand Prix men's singles titles this year. Fung, winner of the Korean and Taipei Opens in January and a quarterfinalist at last week's All-England Open, took the Swiss Open title today with a 15-13 and 15-0 championship match victory over Marleve Mainaky of Indonesia.

Women's Singles
Cindana Hartono (Indonesia) beat Yasuko Mizui (Japan) 7-11, 11-6, 13-10

Men's Doubles
Jens Eriksen and Jesper Larsen (Denmark) beat Jim Laugessen and Michael Sogaard (Denmark) 6-15, 15-12, 17-16

Women's Doubles
Rikke Olsen and Mette Sorensen (Denmark) Ann Jorgensen and Majken Vange (Denmark) 15-2, 15-0
