ANTONIUS AND KANTONO TOP WORLD BADMINTON MEN'S DOUBLES RANKINGS

November 7, 1996 (New Shuttlenws) - Indonesians Antonius and Denny Kantono lead the world's badminton men's doubles players in the October 29 rankings published by the International Badminton Federation.

Malaysians Cheah Soon Kit and Yap Kim Hock sit in the second spot, just ahead of world and Olympic champions Ricky Subagja and Rexy Mainaky of Indonesia.

The top European pair is the Danish tandem of Jon Holst-Christensen and Thomas Lund at number 5, while Aussies Peter Blackburn and Paul Staight lead the Oceania players at number 42.

With Canadians Iain Sydie and Anil Kaul as well as Americans Kevin Han and Tom Reidy no longer competing as pairs, they have dropped from the top 50 list and , as a result, there are no teams from the Pan-Americas in the published rankings. There are also no pairs from Africa in the top 50.
