Over the last 6 months, K.M.T. (Shuttlenws 3) has been campaigning with the international weekly TV sports program, TransWorld Sports, to show more and longer hilights of badminton. They have just confirmed that they will give it a big try. As long as they can get footage from Star-TV or the IBF, they will put the highlights on, starting with the Malaysian Open. They could not do it with the Olympics because there were so many sports to report over the two weeks. TransWorld Sports is shown on the Prime cable network here in the U.S.A. In Canada, it is on TSN. It is shown in many countries all over the world. They have a new website (URL is http://www.trans-world-sport.com where they publish details of the week's program as well as their broadcast schedule for many countries). If badminton fans all over could watch the program whenever they schedule badminton and then e-mail to them at producers@trans-world-com.sport positive comments, profuse gratitude, requests for more (no flames yet, please), then it will encourage them to show badminton more often and longer. Also, the more messages they get from different people about the seeing badminton on the show and wanting to see more will give them the incentive and ammo to go to the cable and broadcast networks and their sponsors for better timeslots and maybe even some specials and the penultimate, a regular badminton show.
